A spirited NorthEast United FC will take on the giants of FC Goa as they begin their campaign at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati on Monday.
NorthEast United FC will play the ISL opener on their home ground under the stewardship of their new coach Eelco Schattorie while FC Goa will take the turf under the able guidance of seasoned head coach Sergio Lobera for the second successive season.
The Dutch coach was chipped in last season after the departure of Joao de Deus.
Last season’s encounters between the two teams were quite satisfactory for NorthEast United.
They managed to secure one win and drew the second encounter against Goa.
The NorthEast United is expected to exhibit a fresh new look this season as they have former PSG striker Bartholomew Ogbeche leading the attack.
The Nigerian footballer is expected to steer the attack for the team from the Northeast.
While Croatian duo of Mato Grgic and Mislav Komorski will take charge of the defence, Rowllin Borges will play the anchor role in midfield.
