In an incident of hand grenade explosion, two minor boys were killed on Sunday and one boy was seriously injured in the Imphal East district of in Manipur.
According to a media report, the three were playing at Suvunglo village under the jurisdiction of Khoupum Police Station when the trio chanced upon a foreign-made hand grenade.

As per the report, not knowing it was an explosive, the three boys began tossing it around and then it exploded.
While one of the boys was killed on the spot, the two other boys were seriously injured in the grenade explosion. Though the injured were immediately admitted to the hospital, the other boy died after being admitted to a district hospital. The media report also stated that the identity of the dead and the injured could not be known immediately.
Officials informed that it could not be ascertained till the filing of the report if the hand grenade belonged to some militant group or state or central forces, the media report further stated.
