The grand finale of the first Nagaland Choir Olympics will be held at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma in Kohima district on October 23, 2019.
The event will start at 5 pm.
The Nagaland Choir Olympics, presented by the Musicians Guild, has been initiated by the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFNA).
A total of 10 choir groups of Nagaland have been selected to participate in the grand finale of the Nagaland Choir Olympic.
The choir groups have been selected for the grand finale following auditions organized in 10 different districts of the state.
The choir groups from 10 districts of Nagaland which will participate in the grand finale are Zunheboto district – ZTSBC, Mokokchung district – Ongmesang Choir, Mon district – Mon Chamber Choir, Peren district- Cantamus and Phek district – The Canticles.
The choir group to represent Kohima district is Harmonic Voices while Longleng district will be represented by Orangkong Choir.
The Wokha district will be represented by Bridge of the Gap and the Tuensang district will be represented by Yimchunger Baptist Church Choir.
The Peren audition for Nagaland Choir Olympic 2019 was held on September 27 under the aegis of Peren District Music Society (PDMS) in association with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA).
The audition was held at the Town Hall in Peren.
After going through a tough competition, Cantamus Choir was selected during the audition.
Mokokchung Event Management (MEM) under the aegis of Task Force for Music organised the audition for Nagaland Choir Olympics 2019 at the Town Hall on Mokokchung on September 28.
The Wokha audition for the Nagaland Choir Olympics concluded successfully on September 28.
The Bridge of the Gap came out successful in the audition.
The programme was hosted by Nzan Patton.
