Downplaying the prospect of the Opposition’s ‘Mahagathbandhan’, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav today said here that the BJP led NDA will come to power with a bigger mandate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“The Lok Sabha polls will be held in three months time and we are going to the polls with all the NDA partners. We expect a bigger victory than 2014. The opposition sponsored Mahagathbandhan is likely to be a non starter. The opposition has no common agenda and they are all joining together just to stop Modiji from coming to power,” said Ram Madhav while addressing the media in Guwahati.

“Utter chaos is going on in the name of Mahagathbandhan by the opposition parties. There is no common agenda to unite except the one to stop Modiji from coming to power. It is going to be a non starter,” he said.

Ram Madhav, who is scheduled to meet the BJP legislators in Assam today, further said that the BJP is going back to the people with the record of its developmental works done in the past five years.

“A total of 129 schemes have been started in the last five years for the benefit of under-privileged people. About 23 crore people have been benefited out of these schemes,” he said.

“The Maoist violence is declining. However, the terror of urban Naxals is on. We are taking up steps and hope to end the urban naxalism soon,” he added.

“The choice before the people of the country is –whether they want a stable and development focused government or a hotchpotch and failed government,” he added.
