Stating that students are the future of the country, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday said the State government is committed to create an ideal atmosphere for the upbringing of the students.

Interacting with the students at the Central Hall of Assam Legislative Assembly here on Wednesday, Sonowal said that State government is working resolutely for the intellectual, physical and social development of the students so that they can contribute to the growth of the State.

It may be noted that the students from Patharkandi College, Karimganj College, Haflong College and Institute of Pharmacy, Gauhati Medical College on Wednesday came to Assam Legislative Assembly to witness the Assembly session.

They also participated in an interactive programme with the Chief Minister at the Central hall. Sonowal, while interacting with them, said, “Hard labour and dedication are the hall marks for the students to reach the zenith of success.”

Sonowal also said, “There is no shortcut to success and the students should work hard to taste success in life.” He also advised them to study at least 12 hours a day and achieve success in life, stated a government press communiqué.

Chief Minister Sonowal also appealed to the students to live in peace with the people belonging to all caste, creed, community and religion and work for a new Assam which can claim it to be one among the five most developed States in the country.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, MLAs Tapan Gogoi, Gurujyoti Das, Krishnandu Paul, Mihir Kanti Shome, Bir Bhandra Hagjer, Mrinal Saikia, Additional Chief Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Dr AK Singh were present at the event, the communiqué added.
