In Pathsala town of Barpeta district, the Pathsala Police has installed signboard at every entry gate of the town area prohibiting entry of heavy vehicles carrying goods to the town area from 8 am to 8pm.

But it has been noticed that heavy vehicles enter the town area throughout the day without any obstacle which in turn causes frequent traffic jams creating massive inconvenience to the common people including students and office-goers.

According to the learned section of the State, Pathsala town has been marked as an education hub but it has been noticed that commercial heavy vehicles enter the town area at any time by violating government rules which causes havoc to the common citizens of the town.

Those who are mostly suffered due to such kind of vehicles are the school and college-going students of the area.

Sometimes it becomes very difficult for the office-goers to reach their respective offices due to traffic jams.

Such heavy vehicles are also a threat to light vehicles which highly increases the risks of fatal accidents.

The police authorities of Pathsala town have already hung notice boards in the entry gates which read as – ‘Heavy vehicles no entry in Pathsala town from 8 am to 8pm’.

The people of the area have already lodged complaints with the Pathsala Police administration and the Bajali Sub-divisional administration regarding this issue but till date, no improvements have been noticed.

It may be mentioned that Pathsala is the headquarters of the Bajali Sub-division under Barpeta district.

The residents of Pathsala town have appealed to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take action against the heavy vehicles which enter the town from 8 am to 8 pm violating set rules.
