The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority has advised the district administrations and district disaster management authorities of Kohima, Phek, Wokha, Mokokchung and  Zunheboto district to issue high alert to residents and farmers residing along Sidzu/Doyang river and vehicular passengers to avoid the river banks on the downstream of Pfutsero-Chakabama road.

In an advisory on Monday evening, secretary to Nagaland government, Rovilato Mor, said  owing to landslide on the upstream of Sidzu river above Chakabama-Pfutsero bridge, an artificial dam has been formed and it is learnt that huge water body has been accumulated, posing serious threat to safety of life and properties on the downstream.

Mor asked for wide circulation of the advisory on social media.

The deputy commissioners of these districts have also been directed to mobilize and deploy the State Disaster Response Force and other available resources for responding to the given situation as to any eventualities, if any.

A copy of the advisory has also been sent to deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of Golaghat and Jorhat district of Assam for necessary action and preparedness for any eventualities downstream of Doyang.
