Implementing the tie-up pact signed between the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC)and ONGC last year, ONGC Assam Asset head office in Nazira formally enrolled as many as 68 ASTC buses into the services of ONGC on Saturday.
Sources said ONGC Assam Asset has enrolled a total of 297 different vehicles to run under ONGC contractual basis enrolment for a period of four years.

Following the process, ONGC has decided to take 68 buses from ASTC. With this step of the ONGC authorities, ASTC will be benefitted.
Besides, hundreds of mini and small vehicles have also been taken by the ONGC from various unemployed educated youth of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts and this will definitely benefit the youth.
ONGC requires about 400 vehicles every year for oil exploration and other services and the company generally takes such vehicles from local people so that the local economy can improve.
