Meghalaya Governor, Tathagata Roy said that getting tourists from the Bangladesh side to Meghalaya would give a big boost to the economy.
The Governor who toured the southern parts of Meghalaya on Monday morning reached Dawki along the Indo-Bangla border and halted there, where he overlooked vast tracts of Sylhet district of Bangladesh.
“Now at Dawki, overlooking vast tracts of Sylhet district of Bangladesh, from which many of my relatives came. Huge number of tourists on the BD side. If we can get a fraction of them to Meghalaya it would give a big boost to the economy,” the Governor said in his tweet.
