The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) recovered various contraband items during regular checks and drives conducted at various stations and trains in the Northeast during the first half of the month of October.

“RPF personnel of NF Railway recovered 89.45 kgs ganja worth about Rs 8.94 lakh during this month from October 1 to 13,” the NF Railway said in a statement on Tuesday.

Moreover, the RPF of NF Railway recovered “55.45 kgs ganja worth about Rs. 5.54 lakh in different drives against transportation of contraband goods at different stations and trains over NF Railway” between October 1 and 9.

It may be mentioned here that RPF recovered contraband substances including ganja, heroin and brown sugar worth Rs 42,39,400/- during the month of September.
