With the main aim to reach out to the next of kin of battle and physical causalities and veterans, the Army is observing 2019 as the “Year of Next of Kin (YoNoK)”.

The main objective of YoNok is to reach out to the family members to spread awareness on various welfare schemes being undertaken by the government.

The Gajraj Corps has planned activities to be undertaken in a phased manner throughout the year.

An awareness campaign was undertaken by the Gajraj Corps with the aim of making the next of kin aware of 2019 being observed as the YoNoK.

An interactive session under Project SAMBHANDH was organised on July 9 to address the grievances of the next of kin of the veterans and battle and physical casualties.

Col (retd) V Shankar interacted with the next of kin, veterans and troops of 4 Corps.

Col (redt) V Shankar is involved in an 1,000 days, one man philanthropic endeavour under ‘Project SAMBANDH’ wherein, he connects with next of kin of Indian Army, with an aim to assist them in availing all the entitlements applicable.

The interaction was based on case studies along with the relevant data specific to the formation/ regiment/ geographic area.

A total of 60 NoKs, 100 ESMs and 1,421 serving army personnel were benefitted from the interaction.
