The district administration of Kamrup (M) has withdrawn its order on Monday declaring holiday for the next two days in all the schools under the district.
Earlier on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) had issued an order declaring closure of all schools under the government and private sectors on August 27 & 28.
The DC issued the first order as a measure to give relief to the school children of the district from the hostile weather.
But with the improvement in the weather condition in the city following a spell of shower in the evening, the district administration took the decision to withdraw the order of two days’ holiday.
This was confirmed by the DIPRO of Kamrup (M), who shared the information about the new development through their official Whatsapp group.
The latest official Whatsapp message said: “In view of the improving weather conditions all schools under Kamrup Metropolitan District will remain open on August 27 and August 28, 2019. The order declaring holiday for two days has been withdrawn.”
The earlier order, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) had said: “In view of severe heat conditions which is causing great inconvenience to the school going children, all schools under government and private sector in Kamrup Metropolitan District will remain dosed for two (2) days i.e. 27th August, 2019 and 28th August, 2019.”
