Four including two Bangladeshis and two Indian touts held by BSF in Tripura.

Agartala: The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in Tripura detained four individuals, including two suspected Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian touts, for illegally crossing the international border.

As per a press release issued by BSF, early on the morning of July 16, a special patrolling party from the Nischintpur Border Out Post, located in the West District of Tripura, apprehended one Bangladeshi national and one Indian tout in the general area of Nischintpur.

They were attempting to cross the border from India to Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi national was identified as Atiqur Rahman, 48, a resident of Brahmanbaria district in Bangladesh. The Indian tout was identified as Arabinda Das, 54, a resident of Assam.

In a separate incident, the BSF Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), along with the Government Railway Police, apprehended one Bangladeshi national and one Indian tout from Agartala.

The Bangladeshi national was identified as Rinku Chandra Das, 18, a resident of Chittagong in Bangladesh, while the Indian tout was identified as Royal Das, 27, a resident of West Bengal.

“Questioning of the apprehended individuals is ongoing. The BSF has intensified its efforts against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, and all field formations are actively dismantling the touts’ networks in the border areas,” the press release of BSF reads.
