Hek in his speech said that for Lakhon Biam and Krishon Langstang it was like home coming, because they were in the BJP during the 2018 Assembly elections, but contested the elections to the JHADC as candidates of the UDP.
“From today, we have our MDCs in JHADC. It is our duty to strengthen the party because in 2023, the BJP will form the government in Meghalaya. We need to enroll more members and carry the pride of the party to the nook and corners of the state,” Hek said.
He also informed that though the four MDCs have changed from the UDP to the BJP, but they would continue to be part of the alliance in JHADC along with the NPP and UDP.
Lakhon Biam is the Chairman of JHADC.
BJP legislator from Shouth Shillong constituency, Sanbor Shullai termed the joining of the four MDCs “sign of brightness for the BJP” and they have taken a good decision for the development of the state.
Shullai said that more people would join the BJP because many leaders from different political parties have been joining the party.
He claimed that the BJP would form the government Meghalaya in 2023 on its own.
He called upon party workers to work hard and enlighten the people about the wrong and political propaganda of Congress and other parties.
