His inspiring life story has already become a folktale in the Barak Valley as a rickshaw-puller from Patherkandi in Karmganj district, Ahmed Ali is definitely a personality fit for national recognition for his exceptional service to the society by setting up a number of nine schools in his mid-sixties.
This is really an exceptional example of a great contributor to the society. After giving his toil behind rickshaw to run hand to mouth needs of his family, he simultaneously kept his eyes open for creating educational atmosphere around him.
From the Prime Minister’s Office a phone call was received on Thursday by the Superintendent of Police of Karimganj, Gaurav Uaddhyaya, regarding Ahmed Ali.
The PMO asked the district police head to make it confirm whether Ali is really a founder of so many schools or not. The SP confirmed and acknowledged the credit of Ali. Patherkandi MLA Krishnendu Paul was also informed regarding the PMO’s call in this regard.
Paul expressed his happiness and said that as a citizen of Patherkandi as well as Karimganj, he is feeling proud of Ahmed Ali. MLA Paul is optimist that any golden acknowledgement is waiting for Ali for his great work. The MLA said that he personally visited the schools which Ali had founded with financial aid.
Ahmed Ali said he had founded so many schools as an inner call from the Almighty Allah but as now his deeds are being encouraged by the government at the PM level, it gives him special satisfaction. Ali said that he had received phone calls from even the US, UK and other foreign countries too. Everybody greeted him for his golden work.
It may be noted that till today, Ali has founded almost nine schools, some of these have already been provincialised.
