Haflongbar further said, โ€œThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has extended the Councilโ€™s term by showing unnecessary reasons only in fear of losing Councilโ€™s election. At this moment the BJP has no option but to extend the term of the Council.โ€

Criticising the BJP-led state government on non-release of Normal department workersโ€™ salary for last ten months and the deplorable road condition of the Dima Hasao district, Haflongbar said, โ€œDebolal Gorlosa-led NC Hills Autonomous Council has completely failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of the Dima Hasao district. People have not witnessed any improvement of the worst road conditions in the district.โ€

Talking to Northeast Now on Thursday, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) organising secretary and former NCHAC CEM Debojeet Thausen also expressed his dissatisfaction over the Governorโ€™s order and said that the ruling coalition party AGP would move court against the order.
