The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of severe weather conditions for five days starting Sunday. Heavy rains in Meghalaya and thunderstorms with squall and hail are forecast in Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, apart from Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar.

The weather department said that on Sunday, thunderstorms were likely to occur at various place while there is possibility of squall and hail at isolated places over Sikkim, Uttrakhand, Odisha Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, north Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

On April 9, thunderstorm accompanied with squall and hail can take place at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Kerala, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.

Similar type of weather will continue on April 10 at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand Punjab, north Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.

While on April 11, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds was likely to occur at isolated places over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
