Ajmal Foundation, a public charitable trust has been undertaking a number of socio welfare activities.
Community food distribution is one of such initiative which Ajmal Foundation undertakes every year.
This year, Ajmal Foundation will distribute 91,000 food packets in different districts of Assam, West Bengal and Meghalaya among the poor and needy people.
The food kit contains 25 kg rice, three kg chana, three kg sugar, two kg of dates and two litres of mustard oil.
The distribution process which has already started will be completed within a week.
This initiative is undertaken in view of Ramzaan, the holy month of Islam that began on Thursday.
On the eve of the holy month, the Ajmal Foundation distributed food packets worth Rs 24 lakhs among 1200 beneficiaries coming from poor background at South Salmara in Assam’s Dhubri district.
The Foundation will distribute similar food packets among poor beneficiaries in various districts of Assam like Dhubri, Goalpara and Barpeta.
