The film was declared as the winner at the third edition of the Best of India Short Film Festival hosted by ShortsTV in October this year.
However, the other four finalists of this edition are also eligible for entry into the Oscars, which comprise โShamelessโ by Keith Gomes, โSound-Proofโ by director Aditya Kelgaonkar, โSafarโ by Pratyusha Gupta and โTrappedโ by Dheeraj Jindal.

Gomes and his team have confirmed that their film โShamelessโ is the official Indian entry in this category.
โBest of India Short Film Festival has established itself as a leading industry festival highlighting inimitable, original work and give Indian talents a chance to bring home an Oscar,โ a report quoted Carter Pilcher, chief executive of ShortsTV.
The festival provides a platform for Indian filmmakers to take their art to the Oscars and showcase their films before a global audience, he said.
This year the Film Federation of India has selected the Malayalam film โJallikattuโ as the Indian official entry for the best international feature film category in the Academy Awards.
