The flight will provide regular service from Delhi at 9 am daily to Tezpur via Kolkata and Jabalpur.

With the induction of the flight service, a long felt need of the people from the northern belt of the region will be fulfilled.

Notably, the Tezpur airport was inducted in 1942 during the World War-II by the British Royal Indian Air Force at Salonibari.

In subsequent time, the Indian Air Force simultaneously started passenger service for people of the region, including the neighbouring hill state of Arunachal Pradesh.

The airport also led to its improvement into an Army base in 1959.
