The Union external affairs ministry and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) are all set to organize an international level Northeast India Buyer-Seller Meet on March 22, 2021 at NEDFi House in Guwahati.
The aim of the meet is to create a platform for both buyers and sellers,
The meet will be held from 10 am to 5 pm.
The welcome address will be delivered virtually by MK Saharia, chairman (NER), Indian Chamber of Commerce.
The Northeast Buyer-Seller Meet will be attended by representatives from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.
It is expected that the buyer-seller interactions in the meet will give detailing of buyers’ requirements to the sellers.
“The event would be providing a platform for one-to-one interaction between the entrepreneurs of Assam, rest of India and from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar as an initiative of the first phase,” Siddhartha Roy of ICC said.
There will both physical and virtual business-to-business meeting and roundtable discussions.
The highlights of the meet include understanding the needs and device means for the development of various industries; cost-effective promotion of industry, products and services and achieving better understanding of the Northeast regional markets.
The sectors which will be focused in the meet are agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, medicinal plants & herbal products, tourism, handloom & handicrafts, education, health, textiles and energy.
On March 22, 2021, OSD (states) of the Union external affairs ministry, C. Rajasekhar will address the media after the inaugural session.
