The assistant secretary of ex-BLT Welfare Society, Baksa district committee on Friday refuted the charges of alleged arms and ammunition recovery from an ex-BLT member at No 2 Katligaon village in Baksa district and made it clear that the society is not responsible for any illegal arms possessed by any member as they have already laid down all arms and ammunitions after BTC accord.
The assistant secretary of Baksa district ex-BLT Welfare Society Deben Boro said he was surprised to see in an Assamese daily that some arms and ammunitions were recovered from No 2 Katligaon area under Mushalpur Police Station on March 7 last.
He said the daily stated that as per the confession of the arrested, one ex-BLT member was involved with the recovered arms and ammunition.
Boro appealed to the administration to reveal the name of the suspected ex-BLT and also arrest and take legal action against him if he is really involved.
He also said they were not responsible for any illegal arms possessed by any ex-BLT member because they had laid down all arms and ammunitions in 2003 and came to the mainstream and are leading normal life in the society.
