As many eight players from Assam has been selected in the Indian contingent for 11th World Youth Cup karate Championship and Training Camp.

The eight players from Assam selected in the Indian contingent for 11th World Youth Cup karate Championship and Training Camp are Hemphu Bongjang, Nilav Nayan Thakuria, Saurav Kumar Gogoi, Akanksha Konwar, Ishita Kashyap, Punit Jakhwal, Ashis Talukdar and Ayushman Pachani.

Apart from these eight players, three officials from United Karate-Do Association of Assam will accompany the team.

They are Nagen Bongjang who has been selected as the head coach, while Sunil Kumar Gogoi and Ramen Chakraborty will be part of the Assam contingent as team officials.

The championship will be held at Umag in Croatia from July 2 to 8 next.

This was communicated to the United Karate-Do Association of Assam by the general secretary of Karate Association of India through an official communique.

The United Karate-Do Association of Assam has been directed through the same notification to confirm the participation of the selected players and team officials.

The Karate Association of India has also asked the United Karate-Do Association of Assam to submit the valid passports of the selected players and team officials within one week for the formalities to be completed in time.
