Guwahati: A 5.5 magnitude earthquake with an epicentre in Myanmar shook most parts of the Northeast, including Assam.
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported a magnitude 5.5 quake in Myanmar near Mawlaik, Mawlaik District, Sagaing, a few minutes ago.

The earthquake hit early afternoon on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 2:15 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 110 km.
The exact magnitude, epicentre, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports.
