During a joint operation, one Indian Yaba tablet smuggler was arrested along with 7 packets of Yaba tablets (total 1362 tablets) from from Kazigaon area in Kokrajhar on Sunday.

The arrested person has been identified as Ashraf Khan, aged about 35 years, son of of late Ahmed Khan, a resident of Bidyapara area of Dhubri town.
The market value of the seized items is over Rs 4,08,600.
One Samsung mobile phone worth Rs 12000 has also been recovered from the possession of the apprehended person.

The operation was led by Deputy Commandment (G) of BSF while Sunil Ch Roy, the Officer-in-Charge of Kazigaon Police Station of Kokrajhar district along with others assisted him.
The apprehended person along with the seized items have been handed over to Kazigaon police.
BSF sources revealed that the apprehended smuggler is a warden of the Institute of Central Assessment (ICA), Dhubri under the project Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gramin Kaushalaya Yojana (DDUGKY).
This year, the G branch of BSF based in Dhubri sector HQ has seized more than 11000 Yaba tablets and also apprehended three persons involved in smuggling of Yaba tablets.
