Panchayat Election Observer of Sivasagar district of Assam Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury in response to a complaint received from Amguri area of the district on the night of November 30 last, has appealed to political parties to take care that the studies of students are not disturbed during campaigning at evening hours.

Choudhury appealed to all political parties and poll candidates to take note of this while using public address system and other electronic devices during electioneering.
He called upon the political parties and candidates to wind up poll campaigning within the stipulated time in the interest of the students.
Meanwhile, poll campaigning for the first phase of panchayat poll scheduled for December 5, is going on in full steam in Sivasagar sub-division. There are three constituencies namely, Amguri, Sivasagar and Thowra, are under this sub division and poll will be held in altogether 638 polling stations.

There are total 3,44,079 voters including 1,75,027 males and 1,69,052 females of the sub-division will exercise their franchise in the forth coming panchayat poll. There are total 2032 candidates are in the fray.
