The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has sanctioned projects worth Rs 400 crores for Arunachal Pradesh on Friday.
The money was sanctioned during the 13th sitting of the Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC) on North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).

The IMC under the chairmanship of DoNER secretary Naveen Verma selected and approved sanction of two projects in the meeting, making the total sanction projects to 19 projects for the State.
The projects comprise of construction of roads, infrastructure development of schools, augmentation of water supply and sewerage management system among others.
Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, who participated in the meeting through a video conference from his office here, termed the approval of Rs 400 crore as a breakthrough sanction for Arunachal Pradesh and said that “the projects have been selected keeping in mind the requirements of the public at large.”

Highlighting the mandate of the government to provide quality services to the people of State, Gopal informed that the State government will soon constitute a quality assurance team in order to strengthen the quality monitoring mechanism and check duplicity and leakage of quality, if any.
Among others, planning secretary Himanshu Gupta, NESIDS Technical Board chairman Dr Atop Lego were present in the meeting.
