The police officials, who most of the time get busy in maintaining law and order so that the citizens can live peacefully, were seen in Guwahati on Monday not in khaki, but in blue jersey as Assam Police XI played a soccer match against Citizen XI in Judges’ Field.
The football match was organised by Assam Police as part of the Assam Police Day celebrations on Monday.

Along with other police officials, the soccer match was also participated by Assam Police boss, the Director General of Police (DGP), Kuladhar Saikia leading the Assam Police team.
The match was also joined by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law & Order, Assam, Mukesh Agarwal.
On the other hand, the Citizen XI side was represented by veteran sports personalities, celebrities, media persons and other officials.

State DGP Kuladhar Saikia has expressed that it was a ‘great feeling’ to have participated in the game as a player.
Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia, a noted short story writer, who was awarded the prestigious Katha Award in 2000 and Sahitya Akademi Award in 2015 for his short stories, tweeted on Wednesday: “Such a great feeling to have played a friendly football match after years between Assam Police XI and Citizen XI at heritage Judges Field.”
Saikia also extended his thanks to the sports personalities, celebrities, media and others who participated in the match.
“Thanks to the veteran sports personalities, celebrities, media and all others who played the game as a part of Assam Police Day celebrations,” tweeted DGP Saikia.
According to information, Assam Police XI held Citizen Xi to a 2-2 draw.
