Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that successful initiative taken in the Northeast would soon be replicated in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

He informed that a team of the ministry will soon visit J&K and Ladakh to suggest ways to replicate initiatives implemented in Northeast.

“J&K and Ladakh were denied the enormous transformation brought about by the Modi government before the abrogation of Article 370 provisions and state’s bifurcation,” Singh said.

“I hope the region will now progress at the same pace and scale as the rest of the country,” he added.

“The DonER team would suggest how best the Northeast’s successful initiatives in several areas could be replicated in J&K and Ladakh,” Singh added.

“Article 370 blocked the northeast’s successful initiatives from being introduced in Jammu and Kashmir,” Singh said.

He further said that under PM Narendra Modi, Northeast witnessed exemplary development.

“Unfortunately, J&K, despite several similarities with the northeast, could not avail of the highest priority accorded by the Modi government to far-flung and peripheral states,” he further said.
