Imphal: Owing to cyclone Remal, the state has been witnessing heavy and incessant rains for the last two days which has affected normal life.
There is a flood-like situation prevailing in several districts — including Imphal West, Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Ukhrul, while many other low-lying areas witnessed water-logging causing considerable damage to the public and private property.

In the wake of the flood threat looming large in the areas along the overflowing water level at Semai barrage in Kakching district, the Manipur Government has sounded high alert, calling out the Disaster Response Force (DRF).
An alert has been issued in the low-lying areas around this barrage area as the shutter of this barrage is unable to lift due to a technical problem, while help has been sought from the concerned authorities to deal with the flood-like situation in Kakching district.

The heavy rains caused multiple landslides across causing landslides at Phungreitang West, where an electric pole was swept away.
One of the most affected areas is Shirui, where a landslide has completely cut off vehicle movement on NH 150 Ukhrul-Jessami Road.
On the NH 37 at K Sinam and T Leinang villages of Kangpokpi district, a loaded truck plying towards Silchar from Imphal was swept away into the gorge by the strong water current but no casualty has been reported.
