The closing ceremony of the ‘Mizo Short Film Competition 2018’ organized by Information & Public Relations Department of Mizoram in association with Mizoram Film Forum (MFF) was held at I&PR Auditorium in Aizawl on Tuesday.

The chief guest of the function, Dr C Vanlalramsanga, Secretary of Planning & Programme Implementation Department distributed the awards to the winners at the glittering function.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government knowing the impact films has on the individual and society is working towards establishing a ‘Film City’ in Mizoram.

David L Thangliana chaired the function.

The judges for the competition were Lalsawmliana Pachuau, proprietor, LPS and Irene Lalruatkimi, HoD, Mass Communication of Mizoram University.

Speaking at the function, both the judges were of the view that the Mizos are making tremendous progress in film making.

Especially who acquire knowledge through the government workshop and training on film making are distinguished in their techniques and acting, they said.

The ‘Mizo Short Film Competition 2018’ winners are: Latest Mizo film winner – ‘Rinna’, directed by Aldrin Zosangliana.

The first runner-up was ‘Pialral ah’, directed by Napoleon R Z Thanga.

The second runner-up went to ‘Chemi Leh Tlangchhuana’, directed by Lalrinmuana.

The best director award went to Aldrin Zosangliana for ‘Rinna’.

The best editor award went to Albert Zosangliana for ‘My Angel’.

While Aldrin Zosangliana bagged the best cinematography award for ‘Rinna’, the best story award went to Lalrinmauana for ‘Chemi leh Tlangchhuana’.

The best actor (male) award went to Robinson Sailo for ‘Pa’, while the best actor (female) went to Lalhmingmawii for ‘Chemi leh Tlangchhuana’.
