The Bodoland Taekwondo Championship 2017 that was kicked-off on December 27 at Kokrajhar concluded on Friday.

The three-day long tournament held at Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) headquarters of Kokrajhar in Assam was organized at the Chikonajhar taekwondo gymnasium.

Apart from players from four districts that fall under BTC namely Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri, players from Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Rabha Hasong, Kamrup (Metro), Nalbari, Tura, Sonitpur, Dibrugarh, Darjeeling participated in the championship.

The tournament witnessed participation from more than 400 players from 17 districts.

Speaking at the concluding function of the championship, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary said the tournament is organized to promote the sporting talents of the region.

He also exuded confidence that players fined tuned from such tournaments can go a long way to represent India in the Olympics in days to come.

Meanwhile, the organizers have informed the tournament went off in a very disciplined manner.
