Manipur legislator Khumukcham Joykishan on Monday said that the present BJP-led coalition government in the State and the Central Government are giving more emphasis to ‘a cow’ than students and the prevailing issues of Manipur.
Speaking at a felicitation programme for appointing MLA Gaikhangam as member of Congress Working Committee (CWC) at the community hall of Langol Tarung in Imphal, Joykishan said that had the issue at Manipur University happened at other states, it might have been solved before any kind of agitation.
The felicitation programme was organized by Thangmeiband Block Congress Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, Joykishan said the present BJP government is giving more emphasis to a single person like the Vice Chancellor of Manipur University against the whole students of the State.
Speaking on the border issue at Kwatha Khunou, he said that many civil voluntary organizations and political parties excluding the BJP claimed that the present border pillar number 81 is not erected in right position.
But he added, when Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju said that there is no dispute regarding the said border pillar, the state BJP remained a mute spectator.
He also reiterated that the state Congress still holds its stand to save the integrity of Manipur while adding that political parties should have clear knowledge along with evidence while delivering speeches on state issues.
