The decision comes in the wake of directives issued by various states to suspend sporting activities for the safety of athletes.
Notably, in yet another massive spike in COVID-19 cases in India, the country, on Monday, logged nearly 1.80 lakh new cases.

India reported 1,79,723 cases of COVID-19 on Monday at a positivity rate of 13.29% taking the active cases tally of the country above the 7-lakh mark.
This is the fourth day when India’s COVID-19 single-day tally stayed above the 1-lakh mark.
The union ministry of health and family welfare further informed that 146 new COVID-19 deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hours.
The number of Omicron also surged in India and now stands at 4033.
