In yet another massive spike in COVID-19 cases in India, the country on Wednesday logged over 1.94 lakh new cases.  

India reported 1,94,720 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday at a positivity rate of 11.05%.

With the detection of the new cases, India’s COVID-19 active cases now comprise 2.65 per cent of the total infections tally. 

An increase of 1,33,873 active cases has been recorded in a span of 24 hours. 

There are a total of 9,55,319 active cases in India.

With India witnessing the third wave of the virus, cases have surged rapidly across the country.  

The union ministry of health and family welfare further informed that 442 new COVID-19 deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hours. 

Moreover, the national COVID-19 recovery rate decreased to 96.01 per cent. 

The number of Omicron also surged in India and now stands at 4868.
