After making Tripura insurgency free, the Tripura Police played a vital role in making the state drugs free, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday.
He was addressing the week-long Tripura Police week celebration in the police ground in Agartala on Thursday.
Deb, who also holds the Home portfolio, praised the police for bringing down the incidents of women atrocity in the State.
Deb also inspected the parade on the occasion and distributed trophies to the winning police personnel.
Later, he also inaugurated a voluntary blood donation programme in which a large number of police personnel, both male and female took part.
Meantime, DGP A K Shukla also gave credit to the state police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) for its counter-insurgency success and bringing peace and normalcy in the State.
The blood donors expressed that they had joined the police force to serve the nation and this is also a gesture by which they can save precious lives of the countrymen.
