Aizawl: Assam Rifles has recovered heroin and other contrabands, including exotic animals, worth Rs. 130 crore in Mizoram in 45 days since January, an official said on Friday.
During operations from January, Assam Rifles recovered four kilograms of heroin, 3.3 lakh tablets of Methamphetamine and other contrabands, including exotic species, altogether worth Rs. 130 crore, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of IGAR (East) said in a statement.

The paramilitary force also recovered 480 grams of heroin worth Rs. 3.36 crore from the possession of a drug peddler during operation at Zokhawthar in Champhai district on the Mizoram-Myanmar border on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, officials of Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department seized 19 kilograms of ganja (cannabis) in two separate operations in Aizawl on Thursday and Friday, the department said in a statement.
Three persons, including an Assam resident, have been arrested for possessing the contraband, it said.

The three accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and were produced before the magistrate on Friday, the statement added.
