Congress candidate Anil Borgohain today filed his nomination papers for 14 Lakhimpur Lok Sabha HPC in North Lakhimpur.
The nomination papers were submitted to the deputy commissioner cum district returning officer Jeevan B in presence of former Assam minister Rajiv Lochan Pegu, former MLA Raju Sahu, district Congress president Joyprakash Das and Doom Dooma Congress MLA Durga Bhumij.
Anil Borgohain is the first Congress candidate to file nomination papers in the state for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
It may be mentioned that the Congress on Monday announced his candidature for the 14 Lakhimpur HPC.
The Lakhimpur HPC includes Majuli, Nowboicha, Dhakuakhana, Dhemaji, Jonai, Chabua, Doom Dooma and Sadiya besides Lakhimpur LAC where polling will be held on April 11.
