Guwahati will soon get a technology city near the LGBI airport, set up on a 300 bigha plot. The government of Assam will set up the city at an expense of Rs 129 crore.
Keshab Mahanta, Assam Technology and IT Minister, on Thursday, informed that Centre had sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the project. The rest of the amount required will be bourne by the state.

Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will lay the foundation stone of the technology city on February 1.
“The tech city will be a landmark for our commitment to science and technology to explore the business potential in the state. Laying the foundation stone two days before the Global Investment Summit is going to be a significant development for us,” Mahanta said.
The building will be three-storey with the IT directorate office, was inaugurated by the CM and Keshab Mahanta.
