Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday held a meeting with the Chief Executive Members (CEMs) of six autonomous councils of the state at Dispur here.
CEMs of Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council, Mishing Autonomous Council, Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council, Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, Tiwa Autonomous Council and Deori Autonomous Council attended the meeting.

The CM stressed on the need to take concrete steps to preserve the rich tribal culture and heritage and urged the CEMs of the autonomous councils to dedicatedly work towards highlighting the culture and folk traditions of the tribes.
He also said that soon to be constructed ‘Sahodar Sammanway Kshetra’ near Rani at the city outskirts would also provide a platform to showcase the vivid cultural resources of the tribal societies to the visitors.
Ekata Bhawan, which would be built at Sadiya, would also serve as a place for congregation and cultural exchanges between the tribes of the state, he informed.

CM Sonowal also urged the autonomous councils to identify land for inviting potential investors to their areas for setting up organic agricultural based industries and he also stressed on the importance of making business proposals in tourism sectors for harnessing their potential.
He said that in the aftermath of Advantage Assam: Global Investors’ Summit there is great buzz within the business community in the country and abroad for investing in Assam and the autonomous councils must take advantage of this by opening their places to these investors, he added.
Media Adviser to the Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami, Additional Chief Secretary of WPT & BC Department Rajib Bora, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Lohia were also present in the meeting among others.
