Keeping in view of the Tripura Assembly polls scheduled to be held on February 18, 2018, the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has rescheduled Class XII examinations to avoid a clash with the Assembly polls.

Though the Assembly election results will be declared on March 3, 2018, according to media reports quoting official sources the entire election process is likely to continue till March 5.

The Assembly elections will be held in 60 Assembly constituencies of Tripura.

Tripura Board of Secondary Education president Mihir Kanti Deb talking to reporters in Agartala on Sunday said that the Class XII examinations, which were scheduled to be held from March 5, will now commence on March 8 in view of the ensuing Assembly elections in the State.

However, Deb informed that there will be no changes in the examination schedule for Class X. “The examinations for Class X will begin on March 6, as per the earlier schedule,” the Tripura Board of Secondary Education added.

According to Deb, around 27,000 candidates will appear for Class XII examinations this year and nearly 55,000 students will appear for Class X examinations.
