Union minister of state for youth affairs and sports Kiren Rijiju has said that the Centre released Rs 5 crore for the creation of the latest laser technology to be employed in shooting range in India.
He said that a Tokyo-like range will be created at the Dr Karnai Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi to equip the shooters with the laser technology to be used in the Tokyo Olympics.

The Tokyo Olympics will take place from July 23 to August 8 this year.
The facilities at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range will also be upgraded.

The Union sports minister had also expressed hope that of the Indian shooters performing well at the Tokyo Olympics.
India topped the medal tally at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2021 held in New Delhi recently, with the USA acquiring the second position.
