A cabinet meeting of Meghalaya government was held at Tura on Monday, the first one in the state’s history to be held outside the State Secretariat in Shillong. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma chaired the meeting.
Despite political criticism, Tynsong said the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government will continue to hold cabinet meetings in different districts of the state.
“Few critics are there who unnecessary asked, why the cabinet has to be held in Tura,” Tynsong said, adding that the decision has been taken by the Chief Minister for the welfare of the common people.

“This is very important to us, and we should not be misled because the people of the state will be blessed by having cabinet meetings in each and every district headquarters,” Tynsong said.
