The All BTC Minority Students Union(ABMSU) on Tuesday filed an FIR at Kokrajhar police station against BJP MLA of Hojai constituency Shiladitya Dev for his alleged controversial statement on the Muslim community.
BJP MLA of Hojai constituency Shiladitya Dev, had allegedly challenged self-styled commander-in-chief of ULFA-I, Paresh Barua to trigger blast during Eid after the Panbazaar bomb blast by the ULFA-I on October 14 last on the eve of the ongoing Durga Puja.
Talking to reporters after filing the FIR at Kokrajhar police station, Jaidul Islam, president of Kokrajhar district unit of ABMSU said such statement by a responsible person who is a legislator targeting a community is not acceptable.
Islam said the BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev should be arrested and punished as per law for his statement.
