‘Agartala: A tragic incident has occurred in Tripura’s East Parliamentary Constituency, as a 27-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan, deployed for Lok Sabha election duty, was discovered dead inside a bus while returning to a temporary camp at Kanchanpur under North District.

Identified as Raksa Nargis Keshav from the 199th battalion of BSF in Panisagar, North Tripura, he hailed from Latur, Maharashtra.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain uncertain.

While some sources suggest the possibility of suicide or accidental death, an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause.

The incident took place late at night, with Keshav’s body found in the bus alongside other BSF personnel. Notably, his rifle was unlocked at the time of discovery.

Currently, the deceased’s body rests at the mortuary of the Kanchanpur sub-division hospital. Post-mortem procedures are scheduled for Thursday, after which the body will be handed over to his relatives.
