Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) handed over its product, Biotoilet to Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Mizoram under the chairmanship of Amjad Tak, secretary, PHED at Aijal Club on Saturday.
Addressing at the function, the director of Defence Research Laboratory of Tezpur in Assam, Dr S K Dwivedi said the introduction of Biotoilet in Mizoram is a milestone in the history of sanitation.

He also said Mizoram has great advantage due to abundant supply of water.
He also made a mention that handling of Biotoilet in different regions might be different as the technology involved Anearobic Microbial Innoculum and their reaction might differ.
He stressed that continuous feedback mechanism must be maintained from scientists at Tezpur.
