AATASU protest in front of Borbam TE H.O

All Assam Tea Tribe Students Association (AATTSA) ,Borbam Primary  Unit  gheraod  its head office located at Amguri Borbam in Sivasagar district on Monday protest against alleged uncivilized behaviour by the Manager of the tea estate.

According to reports, due to non-payment of electricity bills  by the TE authority , Amguri Electrical Division under  Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd(APDCL) had curtailed the electricity connection to the TE and its employees’ residences.

As a result the candidates of upcoming HSLC and HSSLC have been facing a great hardship.

A team of AATTSA, Borbam Primary Unit met the manager of the TE and urged upon him to provide electricity connection keeping in view the hardships faced by the candidates of HSLC and HSSLC examinations.

But the organization alleged that instead of amicable solution the Manager expressed his rude behaviour to the activists of AATTSA.

The activists of AATTSA, Borbam gheraod its head office along with with local people  by sitting in front of the office main gate.

In the evening, in presence Circle Officer of Amguri Revenue Circle, Mousumi Chetia, Officer in Charge of  Amguri Police Station, a negotiation was held with TE Manger and AATTSA, Borbam TE Primary Group.

In the discussion TE Manager sought apology for his misconduct and assured to provide electricity connection to the residences of the TE employees within 24 hours.

Later AATTSA withdrew their strike. The protest programme was led by Dhanonjoy Tanti and Sarumon Mehera, president and secretray respectively of AATTSA, Borbam TE Primary Group and advisors Krishna Guwala and Romesh Baskey.
