BJP suffers a blow as an aspiring candidate from Garo hills Moromi K Marak on Sunday tendered her resignation to state president Shibun Lyngdoh as the party denied her ticket to contest the February 27 polls in Meghalaya.

Marak, an advocate by profession was aspiring to contest from Dalu constituency in West Garo Hills and held the post of vice president of BJP Mahila Morcha in the state.

“I had work hard to build the party in Garo hills and formed mandal committee of yuva, mahila and kissan morcha in Dalu but in spite of all my efforts, I have been denied party ticket for the upcoming election”, Marak said in her resignation letter to BJP chief of Meghalaya.

Along with her all the members of different morchas, booth level units, including village committees of BJP in Dalu constituency have tendered their resignation.
