The Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) has condemned the alleged act of โ€˜shamelessโ€™ frisking, checking of undergarments and making women participants to undress in BJP National President Amit Shahโ€™s political rally at Bhilai Charoda district of Chhattisgarh recently.

โ€œThis is not for the first time that women are manhandled, thrashed and have undergone embarrassment in Shahโ€™s rally. Such has become an inevitable habit of Amit Shah to disrespect and disgrace womenโ€™s dignity. Is he (Shah) not satisfied with intensified security arrangements made by his government? What actually is making him to strip-check women folk?โ€ the APMCC questioned.

The Mahila Congress further said the BJP is reeling under the guilt of being dishonest and unfair to women folk of this country.

BJPโ€™s โ€˜jhumlaโ€™ to โ€˜save and educate a girl childโ€™ is mere election gimmick to gather attention of female voters. BJP leaders are suffering from โ€˜melanophobiaโ€™ (fear of the colour black) and that is why they are harassing and beating the women wearing black. Such is BJPโ€™s so called women empowerment, the Mahila Congress said.
