All India Mahila Congress president and parliamentarian Sushmita Dev on Thursday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fast losing grounds on its own strongholds across the country, adding the saffron party can have no footing in Tripura.
All India Mahila Congress president who was in Agartala to campaign for her party ahead of ensuing elections in the State also claimed that Congress is the only alternative of ruling Left Front in the State.
“BJP is dying factor in Tripura, but CPI-M is a factor for poll battle in Tripura and Congress is fighting to oust the Left Front government in Tripura,” Dev claimed while addressing the media in Agartala.
Coming down heavily on Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also BJP’s election in-charge for Tripura, Dev said both were engaged in deportation of Bengalis as student leaders, and now ironically are now fulfilling their dream through government mechanism.
“We are not againt an updated NRC in Assam, but Assam Chief Minister through his officers are depriving the linguistic minority of the State,” she further said.
“When the BJP had published a booklet on most corrupt Congress leaders of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma topped the list”, the Silchar MP reminded.
The Congress want protection of linguistic minorities of Assam, said Dev, adding that the saffron brigade is now in poll campaigns in Tripura with huge money, but they never fulfilled any poll assurances in Assam.
She also assured the voters that change is ensuing in Tripura by the hands of Congress.
